My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

What are you up to today? I can’t tell because your public calendar has not been published. When I went hunting for it, I found that BHO’s White House posted his schedule right on the whitehouse.gov website. They claimed, “Publishing the President and Vice President’s daily public schedules online is just one more way we’re opening up the White House.” I’m surprised you didn’t continue this practice & am depressed that 45/47 is heading in the opposite direction.

I refuse to fret about the future so I will not say anything more about 45/47.

How was the event yesterday at the Myers-Henderson Hall? The folks at CBS News speculated it was the most personally poignant of your farewell events, especially when you talked about Beau.

I appreciate your candor in acknowledging that the Afghanistan withdrawal could have been better, but I’m glad you got us out of that morass. I regret that you championed military expenditures, especially those related to Israel & Ukraine, but at least you are leaving office with a cease-fire agreement from Bibi. WINTA!

If you wanted to be my hero, you’d be pressing for a ceasefire agreement between the EAOs & junta. We both know Burma is an incredible quagmire, but at least an acknowledgement of the legitimacy of the NUG would be a step toward better governance there.

Today’s HX was “Caressing Fire,” bringing to mind the LA fires. I hope the devastation is a wakeup call to those who are oblivious to the fragility of our planet. I am encouraged to see people coming to one another’s aid. The physical infrastructure will take a long time to fix, but comforting the bereft has begun.

Thanks for reminding folks that the Equal Rights Amendment has been ratified by the requisite number of states. The only thing left is for Congress to adjust the deadline & then the 28th Amendment will be on the books. It’s too bad you can’t put it there yourself.

Along those lines, I love that KDH’s signing of the VP desk got some publicity. I love her expression of gratitude to her team for, “lifting up the American people, lifting up their condition, lifting up their hopes and dreams and understanding through it all the nobility of public service." It’s too bad she won’t be POTUS #47.

            BYBS,
