My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,
We only have 5 more days of these letters. Hard to believe. I’m happy to continue to send you a note now & then when you change residences, but you’ll have to give me a new address.
SoW, I still don’t know what’s going on with the Contact the WH website. Since I have not heard from my first inquiry on this matter, I just invited several friends to contact Reps Dawn Matsui & Michael Thompson so their people will investigate it. We’ll see if they respond.
The press is so busy reporting on the fires, that your designation of the National Monuments got buried on the virtual back page. After hunting, I found a PBS video of it & watched young Ryan Reyes introduce you. It was sweet of her call you a “climate champion...who never stopped fighting.” Your observation that “our natural wonders are the heart & soul of our nation” was spot on & your use of the term, “majestic” to describe them resonated with me.
Speaking of “wonders,” it’s our HX for the day. #25 reminds us to be open to joy & wonder & look upon the world with the innocent eyes of a child. Perhaps you & I can go to one of the monuments together & do some forest bathing. That would be awesome.
In other news, I love your latest move to remove Cuba’s terrorist designation. The AP claims Pope Francis put you up to this so that Cuba would release 553 political detainees. The brilliance of the plan is that 45/47 will reverse the designation immediately so Cuba won’t have much time to benefit. I’d love to know more about Cuba. Have you been?
Have you heard of “dedollarization”? Apparently, Russia & Burma are working on a scheme where they will have a kyat-ruble payment system to facilitate bilateral trade. Who knows how they’ll decide what the exchange rate should be. I am intrigued that this story appeared at Bitcoin.comNews. While I don’t know much about Bitcoin, I must assume that dedollarization will be beneficial to them.
