My Dear POTUS, JRB,
Did you know I am a fan of questions? Inquiry is where it’s at.
Does our brain have to do a somersault to turn a statement into a question? According to FastCommpany.com, hearing questions hijacks our brain & triggers a mental reflex called, “instinctive elaboration.” I hypothesize that posing a question has an even more profound effect on our neurons.
Here’s a favorite question of mine. What canst thou say? Have you heard that question before?
FYI - 372 years ago, Margaret Fell (MF) had a revelation when she heard George Fox asking, “what canst thou say (WCTS)?” She heard it as a call to take responsibility for her own spirituality & not depend on a minister or a book to guide her. She became convinced that the divine spark was in her & she needed to be guided by that Light. MF was one of the Valiant 60 early Quakers & a feminist pioneer for her insistence that women should be able to preach. Her original query, WCTS, has sparked many more. The PYM Faith & Practice is full of them.
What questions are you asking of yourself these days? Have you been wondering about when you will retire?
Is it hard for you to adopt the inquiry mindset when everyone is always expecting answers from you?
Here are my questions for you today:
Are you talking to the NUG about the situation in Burma?
Will you please tell VOZ not to use our bombs on Russian civilians?
What’s your Plan B for getting Bibi to agree to a cease fire?
Why did meet with Belgian PM Alexander De Croo when he is about to leave office?
Did you have fun with Patrick Mahomes & his teammates yesterday?
Are you ready for your upcoming trip to France?
BYBS,
