My Dear JRB,
You’ve been eclipsed again, by the verdict in 45’s case. He’s got 19 mentions in the NYT. You don’t have any. On top of that, the Google “News” sorting mechanism is broken so I can’t hunt down the obscure news about you lurking in the corners of the web.
How are you feeling about the KC Chief’s visit to the WH? CNN notes it could be tense given kicker Harrison Butker’s recent commencement speech at Benedictine College. Patrick Mahomes & Travis Kelce say they don’t agree with him but love him anyway. I’m sure you will be a gracious host & shake his hand.
Please quietly tell him he is sadly misinformed about the contributions women can make to the world. Cite Mark Sappenfield (MS) & say “the world would be better off if we had more women in charge.” MS uses evidence from a couple of studies to prove his point, including the finding that “female leaders were significantly more likely than male leaders to have fast-growing economies."
Given that observation, I encourage you to do what you can to get Aung Sun Suu Kyi (ASSK) out of jail. She may have screwed up regarding the Rohingya, but she’s better than MAH. Under his leadership the Burmese economy has withered. It’s in such bad shape that the junta is recommending barter trade.
ASSK might be able to bring the AA into the fold, so they will stop trying to create a separate Arakan State. When questioned about why they call the Rohingya, “Bengalis” the AA claims, “mass immigration took place during the British colonial administration from Bengal to Arakan…many dishonest Muslim community members, especially in the diaspora, believe that they can claim as an indigenous ethnic group by erasing the evidence of this colonial migration. From the perspective of the local native indigenous population, ‘Rohingya’ is a political movement to separate a part of Arakan, our fatherland, by destroying the integrity of our ancestral history.” The AA would benefit from some female leadership!
BYBS,
