My Dear Friend & President, JRB,

            My house is extremely noisy this AM Two Rotty/German Shepherd foster puppies & 1 terrier all barking at once about nothing. Well, it seems that way to me. I suspect the issue is dominance, establishing the pecking order & then testing it. I hope they get it figured out soon. I’m worried the neighbors will complain.

            Navigating hierarchy seems to be inevitable in the animal kingdom, even for humans. Maybe, especially for humans.

            Uh,oh – things have gotten suddenly quiet. I should probably see what the puppies have found to divert their attention away from their squabble.

            They are fine.

            I hope you have fun speaking at West Point today. You should be able to relax. No one will be turning their back to you or holding up a flag. As you know the army has a strict hierarchy which the graduates embrace. They will just stare straight ahead with expressionless faces. I hope your message, that their loyalties should be to the Constitution rather than any one individual, sinks in.

            How involved were you in yesterday’s UN statement about “the escalating conflict in Myanmar?” While I am grateful that the world is noticing that the junta is "shooting at unarmed fleeing villagers, beheadings, disappearances, burnings of homes," I am troubled that there is no plan. Can’t we DO something?

            The most urgent matter is to stop the Arakan Army from chasing the Rohingya out of the Rahkine! I encourage you to read the statement released by the Free Rohingya Coalition & 27 other NGO’s to find out more about this.

            The puppy skirmish is suspended for the time being. I will enjoy the peace while I can.
