My dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            I hope you get a chance to go to church this weekend & that you find some solace in prayer. We are called upon to witness the suffering caused by misguided people, to try to find ways to address it, while we also allow ourselves to experience joy & hold on to hope.

            From my read of the situation, VVP is getting himself into a Vietnam situation, where his soldiers will have trouble convincing themselves that they are fighting on the “right” side when Russian speaking Ukrainians can tell them otherwise. If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look at today’s G where you can see an older citizen of Melitopol reprimanding a couple of grunts asking, “what are you doing here?” That kind of thing is happening in Myanmar, too. Eventually, individuals in the military will see the Light & follow their own hearts rather than doing what they are told.

            As you know, most humans are not inclined to kill. I hold out hope that our natural aversion to inflict harm will eventually prevail. Every world religion reminds us that we are better off when we treat our neighbors with kindness. Let’s continue to have faith that love will win.
