My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            I’m sure you share my grief in seeing that a 6th grade girl at Rigby Middle School in Idaho shot 2 other students & a custodian. Fortunately, all of the victims will survive, but 1500 kids & their teachers have been traumatized. Apparently, a courageous teacher disarmed the girl & prevented further harm. GMA showed the face of the teacher but did not mention her name. I hope you will invite her to the WH & use this occasion to keep the conversation about preventing gun violence alive.

            I was thrilled to see that you were greeted by the GOP Senators of LA yesterday. Does that mean that they are in favor of the American Jobs Bill? Clearly, they would like federal $$ to fix the Calcasieu Bridge. Isn’t it amazing that it’s still standing after being crashed into by the floating casino last year?  It was great that Nic Hunter, GOP Mayor of Lake Charles, wrote in the Shreveport Times that “Now is the time to reinvest in our nation’s infrastructure in a resilient and historic fashion?

            When you explain to everyone that corporations should pay their fair share, you can bring up Evergy as an example of a company that is profiting off of the hardships of its customers. According to today’s KCS, they doubled their profits in the 1st quarter of 2020 due to spike in natural gas prices during the Feb cold snap. At this time, they had to initiate rolling blackouts so their 1.6 million customers were in the dark while they raked in the bucks. I’m sure the folks of MO & KS won’t mind if you tax some of those windfall profits.
