My Friend & POTUS, JRB,
It’s my sister’s birthday. She’s 64 & singing that Beatles song. “When I get older, losing my hair…” She’s still got all of her hair, & her family still feeds her & needs her so she’s in good shape. I told her that 64 is 2 to the sixth power so she is going to be magical this year.
I hope your trip to Louisiana goes well today. They say that LA is ground zero for climate change damage. They’ve got too much rain coming out of the sky & not enough underground. As you know, their drinking water infrastructure is failing so they can use all of the help they can get.
I’m glad that you are drawing attention to the water problems in our country. Perhaps you saw the article in today’s G about Mt Vernon, NY, where sewer lines get clogged so that sludge flows out of toilets in people’s homes. That shouldn’t be happening in America. They’ve got some 80-year-old failing pipes buried 60-100 feet underground & during heavy rains raw sewage ends up in the Hutchinson River. They’ve got EPA fines on top of their expensive repair bill. So funds from the the Drinking Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Act of 2021 just passed by the Senate might be available to them, if & when the bill passes through the House.
On a lighter note, did you see the story in the WP about the Undulatas Asperitas clouds over Lake Ontario? They are quite unusual & happen when the ground temps are lower than the temps 2270 feet up. Their splendor reminds me of the hymn, “For the Beaty of the Earth…”
BYBS,
