My Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            It’s Black Friday. I am not a fan. Shoppers in a frenzy to buy just the right item – how did that get to be a “thing?”

            I hope to spend my day with my daughter & her partner enjoying nature so I am writing to you in a rush & only had a quick look at today’s papers.

According to the CSM you can stop worrying about VPP starting a war in the Ukraine. He just wants you to assure him that the Ukraine won’t join NATO. He’d prefer his neighbors be neutral. I hope that’s not too much to ask.

            Did you read in the Guardian about the desperate people in Myanmar who are facing extreme food insecurity? The situation is quite similar to the Holodomor famine you acknowledged in your statement the other day. The junta is destroying the food supply.

Please give Chris Sidoti, a call. As a former member of the UN fact-finding mission, they have some ideas about how you can help suggesting, “Instead of wringing our hands wondering what to do, the international community can and must work formally with the NUG and get assistance across borders into the country and to the people who need it.” We need to do more!

            The best news of the day comes from the KCS which announced that Kevin Strickland, who has been unjustly imprisoned for the last 40 years, has received pledges totaling $951,338 from 16,300 donors from around the world. This shows that people will do the right thing even when their government doesn’t. He’d like to express some “defiant joy.” Perhaps you can call Kevin & apologize to him on behalf of the American people.
