My Dear Friend and President, DJT,
Are you still on a high from your rally with the “evangelicals” last night? Are you still feeling the good vibes that Guilierrmo Maldonado and Paula White sent your way?
Maybe you are now ready for an irenic conversation. That’s what Christianity Today’s President, T. Dalyrmple, advocates where evangelicals of “different stripes” come together to discuss their differences. He’s worried about the “wholehearted embrace” you are getting from some Evangelicals who are pledging their “unconditional loyalty” to you. I’m sure you are aware that he thinks your “presidency has wrought enormous damage to Christian witness” and “has alienated many of our children and grandchildren.”
Do you consider yourself to be evangelical? I’m not really sure what an evangelical is. According to Thomas Kidd writing in TGC, there’s a spectrum of evangelicals – including fundamentalists and “born again” folk. They’ve all got a paradoxical relationship with sin, recognizing that we are all sinners but need to constantly fight the evil that lurks within. I don’t like to beat myself up too much, so I don’t want to spend a lot of time focused on my short-comings. I think you feel the same way, in which case, you aren’t an evangelical and the honest thing to do would be to come clean and ask for the forgiveness of all of those folks at the rally last night. If you are an evangelical, then it’s time to ask forgiveness for your debts and start expressing your love for those who trespass against you.
Whether you are evangelical or not, please start following the 5th Commandment, “Thou shalt not kill” and realize that you can’t kill the Devil with a gun or a sword. If QS was planning some assaults on Americans, those plans are still in the works. Don’t deceive yourself into thinking otherwise, and remember WAR IS NOT THE ANSWER & starting one will definitely NOT get you reelected.
Best,
