Do you think the French are right when they say that we are “waking up in a more dangerous world” after the killing General Suleimani (QS)? I recall that WWI started with an assassination and I hope that this assassination of QS doesn’t start WW III. Your former NSCer, Kirsten Fontenrose, thinks that instead of all-out war, Iran is going to attack us in random places around the world so that we never feel safe. I’m not sure which is worse. GOP Sen Cory Gardner (CO) wants you to consult “with Congress on any next steps should the situation escalate.” I think that’s a good idea.

            Please say a prayer for peace when you are with your evangelical friends this evening. You might remind them that preaching politics from the pulpit can jeopardize their tax-exempt status. Your host for today’s gathering at Ministerio Internacional El Rey Jesus, Apostle Guillermo Maldonado, seems to have forgotten that and is going to be investigated by the IRS. No one wants to mess with the IRS so best to keep church and state separate.
