         How is the New Year going for you? Let’s both resolve to embrace honesty in 2020. Judi Ketteler’s article in yesterday’s NYT suggests that we do so by being more aware of when and why we lie and making sure that we are honest with ourselves. “Commitment to honesty happens in excruciatingly small increments,” so we’ll have to be patient with ourselves, and “noticing your self-lies is really hard, even for the self-aware,” so we’ll have to find true confidantes who can call us on our BS,” but doing so will “help lift the gloom of … an increasingly dishonest world.” Wouldn’t it be a relief to feel the freedom of the truth?

            I encourage you to show calm and restraint regarding Iran.
