            Did you enjoy your rally in PA yesterday? I see that TAM was there. Did you find out why he quit the House? I tried to read some of your speech but I got confused so I stopped. You said, "But we had one man that after campaigning for eight years, he decided to go thumbs down at two o'clock in the morning." I had no idea what you were talking about. Maybe the folks at the rally know more than I do. Perhaps you could clarify.

            So today you'll be meeting with the Freely Associated States (FAS). Before today I'd not heard of the FAS but I looked it up and now know that they are the island federations of Micronesia, Palau and the Marshall Islands. I'm sure the leaders will be thrilled to be the first FAS folk to be hosted at the WH. Will you be discussing Duterte's recent deal with China? Apparently, he finds a strategic partnership with China "a bit more attractive than the current offer of the US of strategic confusion." What was your reaction to that?  

In addition, to talking about military maneuvers in the South China Sea, the FAS leaders might bring up the challenges they are facing due to changes in the sea level. I read that Pres. Tommy Remengesau finds it troublesome he has to move all of the plants in his backyard in Palau whenever there's a full moon so they don't get flooded. They are trying to figure out how to grow food in the island hills because soon, the low lands won't be able to support crops. He can tell you all about it and I hope you will listen.

         I have to get going. My students are giving oral presentations today. I hope they are as exciting as your rally yesterday.
