My dear Friend and president, DJT,
How was your day yesterday? I got to visit with an old friend. She is in No Cal for her daughter's graduation from UC-Berkeley and came over to Davis for the day. Our daughters are the same age and we find it hard to believe they are all grown up. Her daughter worries that she is selling her soul because she'll be employed doing math for the State Department, something about AI, machine learning, face recognition. She wants to do good in the world. I hope you can support her in that.
Can you call Sec. Purdue and tell him to pay his part of the CA 2018 fire-fighting bill? I know that in the past you resisted paying bills to your contractors but you aren't in the real estate development business any more. CA needs to cooperate with the federal government because a lot of the land in the state that burns belongs to the federal government. If you want our help in putting out this year's fires, you need to pay your bill for last year's fires. Let's not quibble over it.
I hope your visit to PA today is enjoyable. I understand that you're visiting the 12th Congressional District that's having a special election for their House seat vacated by Tom Marino (TAM): Democrat Marc Friedenberg against Republican Fred Keller. It looks like Fred Keller should be a slam dunk. It's nice of you to stop by to give him some encouragement.
Isn't it strange that TAM quit his seat in Jan, just a few weeks after being re-elected? Do you know why he did that? Did it have anything to do with his relationship with the pharmaceutical industry? Seems fishy to me but maybe he just decided he was tired of it all.
I understand that you're not tired of it - quite the contrary - I was surprised to see you telling Steve Hilton on your Fox interview that you love your job and don't even consider it work. You are so fortunate. I feel that way most days, too. Lucky us!
I have to get my Monday started.
Best,
RCA
