I had a nice time on my quick trip to San Diego. That place seems to be thriving! The math teachers were having a blast, solving problems and talking about how we can do a better job getting more kids to learn math. We'd welcome some encouragement from the WH around STEM instruction. I'd be happy to help you plan an event.

Are you having fun in Las Vegas? Have you visited Sheldon Adelson? It must be bittersweet for him, with his Sands stocks appreciating dramatically from his thriving gambling business in Macau and his health deteriorating from non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He's experiencing the best of times and the worst of times. I tried to figure out about Sheldon's efforts to influence the Israeli election by reading an op-ed in the Haaertz by Bradly Burston but it just left me confused. I'm afraid I don't know what Kahanist Otzma Yehudit is. Do you?
I saw the word, "racist," quite a bit in the piece. It seems in Israel, that's the default accusation. I have decided that we all are "racists." It's impossible not to be infected by the stereotypes promoted in the media no matter how hard we might try. If I accept the possibility that I have implicit biases, then I can start fighting them. I suggest that you do the same.
So, when you speak to the fine folk at Sheldon's Republican Jewish Coalition today please refrain from talking about anti-Semitism. Please refrain from any kind of hateful rhetoric. Instead you can have a listening session and find out how the assembled folks feel about granting asylum to people who flee their homes fearing for their lives. Perhaps that will help you better understand the plight of the families on our border.
Speaking of which, did you get a chance to talk with any of those families while you were in Calexico yesterday? What was your impression of the river there? Are you ready to help them clean it up?
