My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
Did you have fun at your dinner with the Senators last night? Was Sen Tim Scott there? How about Tom Scott? Do you ever confuse the two?
Sorry to miss our letter yesterday, but Friday is my day in the 4th grade classroom, my happy place. I almost couldn’t go yesterday, because my car wouldn’t get into gear. Fortunately, my neighbor entrusted her SUV to me on a moment’s notice & I was able to get there. I was uplifted by that act of neighborly love. It’s the beauty of my community.
I’m glad that I made the extra effort because, upon entering the classroom, the students expressed relief & gratitude, as they were being tyrannized by a substitute teacher trying to establish his authority by intimidation.
I hope you didn’t take that approach when meeting with Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba (SI) yesterday. I hypothesize that he’s too polite to tell you if you were coming on too strong.
Speaking of SI, what was your impression? According to the Japan Times he’s “a politician unlike others.” They called him a “otaku” because he’s geeky, attentive to the details of policy & not inclined to bro banter.
Did you know that he’s a Presbyterian, just like you? He may be more devout than you having taught Sunday School & frequently praying to God to correct his mistakes. Did he tell you what he told the Japan Christian Today in 2016, “everyone who exalts himself will be humbled & he who humbles himself will be exalted?” He’s my kind of guy.
Did you talk about Burma? Japan needs some encouragement to stop doing business with the junta. I encourage you both to keep an eye on things there, especially since the recent halt of $$ to USAID which has impacted the independent media giving Chinese backed propaganda an opportunity to expand.
You don’t want Burma to become a province of China, do you? XJ has as much right to Burma as VVP has to the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, & Zaporizhzhya Oblasts. VVP claims so many folks with Russian heritage live in that region, it belongs with Russia & XJ can make a similar claim because many ethnic Chinese live in Burma.
I’m grateful to live in a country where we don’t define ourselves by religion or ethnicity. We’re American because we live here. Right?
Have fun at the Superbowl tomorrow. Please do everything you can to avoid any resemblance to Hitler’s presence at the 1936 Olympics. Evoking that memory will traumatize those who fear you are following in his footsteps. As you know, his journey through life did not end well, so his example is not one to emulate.
BYBS,
RCA
