OK Joe,
It’s time to go.
That’s a packed statement for you & I.
For me it’s about the urgency to leave the house to get to Davis in time for Quaker Meeting for Worship.
For you, it could be about something similar. Perhaps you have a brunch to get to or you have friends coming over or you will take a walk on the beach.
Or, “it’s time to go” could mean it’s time to leave office. Perhaps you need to follow the advice of those who want you to let KDH be in charge to break the WH’s glass ceiling. Have you given that some thought?
Regarding women’s rights, you could at least confirm the ERA as Kristin Gilibrand, my fellow Dartmouth alumna suggests in today’s NYT.
It’s time to go! God is change!
I am reminded of life’s dynamism by the song, Fire on the Mountain. It is stuck in my head by my husband’s recent proclivity to play the Grateful Dead incessantly.
When I looked up where its lyrics came from, I was led to the I Ching. According to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, it is the Book of Changes, written to address our “quest to be at peace with the complicated world” & attempts to answer the question, “Given that we have no full knowledge of ourselves and our surroundings due to the constant changes in the world, how do we conduct our life meaningfully and responsibly?” Sounds like the book for me!!!
Thanks for being in touch with Han Duck-soo about the changes afoot in South Korea. I hope democracy weathers the latest impeachments efforts there.
Please consider how to support rebuilding the education systems in the conflict zones. If freedom can ring in those parts of the world, ALL children need to feel appreciated, respected & safe, encouraged to speak the language of home & not forced to hear about the religious commitments of the majority. To learn more, see the article, “Myanmar’s education crisis deepens under military rule, in the East Asia Forum.
God is Change!
