My dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

Shall we seclude ourselves for the next 48 hours, go for a long walk in the wilderness, sleep under the stars & reemerge when this election is over? It’s tempting!

It’s also tempting to get dramatic & lament the enormity of the situation, regretting that we are so powerless. We could alert everyone that the end is near so they can join us in our despair.

It’s tempting to join the frenzy, get angry, say regrettable things & hope harm comes to those who oppose us.

Let’s resist temptation, you & I. Let’s repeat our mantra, Now, Now, Now, stay in the moment & appreciate the gift of the present. As the Bible suggests, let tomorrow take care of itself.

In that vein, I am marveling at the large flock of crows heading west, cawing to others to join the flock. I assume they are leaving the warmth of their roosts in city parking lots, out to the farm fields where they will scratch around in the damp soil to feast on the remains of the fall harvest. Don’t you wish you could fly along with them?

If you do choose to do some work today, please check in with Commerce Sec Gina Raimondo about the accusation in Politico that the guardrails for the environment & workers written into the CHIPS legislation are being ignored as chip manufacturers make their secret deals to get their share of the $$. I am particularly concerned that taxpayer $$ might be used for stock buybacks.

You might also monitor Min Aung Hlaing’s trip to China. He hasn’t been there since the coup. He’s getting desperate so he might promise XJ some things that he shouldn’t.

Let’s hope that yesterday’s marches inspire women to go to the polls & vote for their reproductive freedom.

            BYBS,
