My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Happy Thanksgiving! I am preparing to head out to the Turkey Trot with some of my neighbors. The Sacto event is supposed to be the biggest in the nation. It’s officially called “Run to Feed the Hungry” & I expect to see folks of all shapes & sizes, many dressed in crazy costumes, ambling along the 5 K. Maybe you can join us next year to show the world what an 83 year-old can do.

            Did you see the coverage that Jill & Ashley got for their shopping spree in downtown Nantucket? Their stop in Ladybird Lingerie got the attention of the Daily Mail. Isn’t it funny that the Brits find that newsworthy?

            I was so sorry to see you ginning up the war in Ukraine. Sending them more weapons & encouraging VOZ to conscript 18-year-olds indicates a desire to continue the violence. Please put your energies in a different direction. Perhaps reminding the people of both countries what they have in common, that love will win the day, that we CAN get along. Those messages would soothe my soul.

            I wonder what Twan Mrat Naing (TMN), leader of the Arakan Army, is telling the citizens of Rahkine. I like to think he is encouraging them to love their neighbor, to be kind to one another & to walk lightly on the planet. Somehow, I doubt it.

According to today’s Irrawaddy, TMN’s crew has taken most of the region. The junta is airlifting supplies to their remaining bases because the AA controls the roads. Let’s hope the Burmese can resolve their differences & restore the cheerful spirit that, according to my friends, made the country such a joy to visit.
