My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,
I am writing to you from Norwich, VT, where I am looking out the window at a tranquil pond, hearing the robins sing, treasuring a moment of serenity after a weekend full of intensity from strengthening bonds with soul mates, reuniting with folks who had faded from consciousness & meeting new friends. Experiencing content exhaustion from the energy I exerted to overcome my introversion & stay in community.
I don’t know how you can maintain that intensity on a daily basis. More power to you! How many new people do you think you will meet today as you visit Palo Alto? Does someone on your staff keep track of every hand you shake?
Here’s a suggestion for your campaign people. Get Opal Lee (OL) on the payroll. Her brilliant job campaigning to get Junteenth recognized as a federal holiday demonstrates that she has the charisma to garner attention. Moreover, at 96, she makes you look like a kid. Did you know that she is planning to walk 2.5 miles today?
She can help you come up with the campaign slogan that you so desperately need. Tory Gavito, of Way to Win worries that you don’t yet have a “single sentence that everybody can repeat.” OL’s mantra is, “freedom is for everybody,” which she clarifies with a 2nd sentence, “we are the richest country in the world & there’s no need to have homeless people or jobless people or people who can’t get health care.” Resonates with me.
Switching gears, have you heard that Thai Minister Don Pramudwinai is organizing a meeting about Burma of international representatives that includes the military junta. Folks find it “shocking & galling” because the Thai Move Forward Party which recently won the election have exactly the opposite position! Please investigate this & remind everyone that WINTA.
BYBS,
RCA
