My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            This will be quick. I have to run to Natomas to further explore the essential characteristics of a pyramid with the 5th graders.

            How are you feeling about Diane Feinstein’s announcement? Isn’t it remarkable that it came at the same time as another mass shooting? I wonder where we’d be if her law prohibiting assault weapons were still in place. I know that you claim ownership of that law but Politico attributes it in part to her, saying “spurred by the assassinations of Milk and Moscone & by a mass 1993 shooting in downtown San Francisco, Feinstein worked to prohibit assault weapons.” In any case, when you call her to congratulate her on her career, please add my thanks for blazing a trail for women in the Senate.

            I appreciate your efforts to ban assault weapons & have my fingers crossed that MI will enact a new law now that they have a Democratic legislature

            As usual, please consider the situation in Burma & do what you can to stabilize the situation there.
