My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            According to WKOW27, some protestors tried to greet you in MKE yesterday but were chased away by police. They ended up chanting “Free, Free Palestine” in the hopes you would hear them. Did you?

            Maybe the walls of the WI Black Chamber of Commerce building are thick, because I couldn’t hear them on the video I watched of bits of the program. Did you hear Rep. Gwen Moore talking about BMWs (Black Men Working) & her excitement about the removal of lead pipes that fed $$s are paying for? She’s got some swagger!

Plumber, Rashawn Spivey, was not so comfortable speaking to the crowd, but did manage to get his message across of achieving dreams with dignity & being a hero by getting too much done. It was great to see him get the spotlight!

            What do you think about the news from Burma on France 24 about women in the Mandalay People's Defense Forces that are using drones to drop bombs on military targets? If WIINTA, is it ok to blow up the junta’s weapons?

            What are your plans for marking the solstice?  I’m going to head out to the neighborhood bonfire, maybe light some candles & make a yule wreath. Marking the reemergence of light will be my new thing for the day.

            As I think about new things, I am considering visiting some multi-ethnic churches in the Sacto area once I move to West Sac. I won’t stop being a Quaker & participating in Davis Friends Meeting, but I would like to develop more soulful relationships with people who do not look like me. Do you have some soulful relationships with people who don’t look like you?

            I encourage you to take a look at the CSM article about post-Evangelical Christians, who “find the person of Jesus” & Bible stories “of liberation, healing & redemption” compelling, while being turned off by the politics of their former fundamentalist congregations. You might find it informative & comforting.
