My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            How do you like my mantra for the day, “Be the best me I can be?” Catchy or trite?

            How is your vacation going? Did you stash your cell phone & eschew the news as mental health experts recommend? That’s a bit much to ask of the POTUS, but it might be the best thing you can do to restore your equilibrium. Then you can avoid what the WP calls, the “sugar high of Trump drama.” They opine that “the former president is regularly intruding to steal the public spotlight, less because of his current actions than the aftershocks of his presidency.” I’m sure you share my wish that he would just go away.

Thanks for ignoring him. It sets a good example for the kindergarteners whose teachers tell them to disregard a classmate who is misbehaving.

            Wasn’t it comforting that Joe Arpaio lost his bid to be mayor of Fountain Hills, AZ? It gives me hope that a MEGA loyalist who used every tactic of the former POTUS when he was sheriff of Maricopa County is now out of favor. Perhaps the arc of the moral universe is, indeed, bending toward justice.

            Another ray of hope came from a CSM article on the 117th Congress lauding the legislation our Reps & Sens have managed to pass. Dem Sen. Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico attributes the success to listening to people on the other side & “being humble in a place of this magnitude.” Wouldn’t it be nice if that were the spirit prevailing in DC these days?

            When you get back on-line, I encourage you to follow the tweets of Justice for Myanmar which provide loads of info about the 116 companies supplying arms to the junta. You might also follow Rap Against the Junta. They are sharing the message to “show love to our enemies no matter how ruthless they are.”
