My Dear POTUS, JRB,
I am not sure where you are right now. Perhaps you are in the air over the Atlantic Ocean on AF1 “gaggling” with reporters. What exactly does that mean, anyway? I am familiar with a gaggle of geese, but don’t know why “gaggle” only appears on your schedule when you are on AF1.
News of your activity at the summits has been hard to come by, but I am seeing in the WSJ that NATO has “abandoned illusions about China” & is now “hawkish.” That reassessment reminded me of Peter Navarro (PN) & how when he joined the former POTUS’s admin, people (myself included) thought he was being paranoid about China. I think he can now say, “I told you so.”
While I think he is terribly misguided by his allegiance to DJT, his recent writing on China was rather chilling. He points out that China has a “voracious” appetite for Russia’s abundant natural resources” & that the 2 countries share the longest border in the world. According to PN, Putin has “destroyed the Russian ruble and turned Mother Russia into an international pariah, & Xi Jinping is standing by with his checkbook, ready to buy up at bargain prices whatever Russia needs to sell to keep its economy afloat and its people fed …tying Russia’s abundant natural resources to China’s factory floor would further erode Western competitiveness in global markets for both manufactured goods and agricultural products.” PN opines that this is not good for VVP or us. What a mess!
China’s got its eyes on Burma’s resources, too, & doesn’t seem to care about what the junta does to its people, as long as China can have a path to the Indian Ocean. Also a mess!
With all that being said, remember WINTA. I repeat, WINTA!!!!
Speaking of Burma, the people are worried that Aung San Suu Kyi’s will not survive the terrible conditions in prison. The Irrawaddy reports that the world has been “silent” about her plight. Please make more noise about your concern for her well-being.
