My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            I am looking at photos from the G7 & was relieved to see that today’s “family photo” had a bit more estrogen & melanin than yesterday’s. I noticed that you made a point of greeting everyone there. Your mom would be proud.

            Did you happen to speak to Indonesian President Joko Widodo about Burma? His country has been known for its role as mediator and facilitator in regional conflicts so he may have some creative ideas to restore democracy there.

            Who was the black woman in the beautiful purple outfit & why was she the last one to arrive at the photo?

            The pic of the guys at dinner in their white shirts was striking! Whose idea was that?

            I was excited to read about the commitment to invest in a  global infrastructure partnership including manufacturing new vaccine plants and expanding digital access in the developing world. I hope you can get the Congress to follow through on that one.

            I was disappointed that I couldn’t find any photos of cool artwork. G7 protestors can be so creative! Perhaps they are all in Madrid for the G20 where it will be easier for them to gather a crowd.

            Finally, what do you think of the claim that sanctions end up “weaponizing the dollar?” I just ran across Byron King casting doubt on the wisdom of sanctioning Russian assets. It gave me pause. It also made me think I should be investing in gold. Your thoughts on the matter would be most welcome.
