My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            I am disappointed that VVP has been successful at diverting your attention from helping poor people here in the USA. Your trip to Lockheed Martin in Alabama yesterday was just another reminder that the military-industrial complex profits from war, so James Taiclet & his investors are jumping for joy to hear you asking for $33 billion to send more Javelin missiles to Ukraine. WINTA! You know that better than anyone, having seen so many of your peers heading off to Vietnam.

            I am resisting the impulse to gather more evidence to convince you of the folly of military expenditures, because today is a special day! My f(F)riend, Grant Noda is turning 100. My big ask of the day is that you CALL HIM! You love to surprise people with phone calls & Grant is especially deserving of a call from the POTUS. He endured being interred in 1942 & somehow managed to get through that ordeal as a cheerful soul who has graced Davis with his generosity & kindness for close to 60 years. He finds solace in his garden where his latest pea crop is better than any I’ve seen.

You could use this occasion to draw attention to the 80th anniversary of the opening of the Merced Detention facility which was used as an “assembly” center for the Issei before they were shipped off to Colorado. Grant was 20 when he faced the indignity of being locked up & the memory of the barbed wire continues to haunt him. A personal apology from you would heal some 80-year-old hurt.

            I hope you heard the news from Myanmar that 8 police officers surrendered to the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) in the Eastern part of the country. No one was hurt during the ambush. I hope we hear more news like this.

            I hope you enjoy your visit with Team USA today & that you meet with some success getting Brittney Griner out of jail in Russia.
