My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Has Jill done her annual April Fool joke on you yet? Being a literal person, I am not creative in that way. I also don’t like fooling people, perhaps because I am so easily fooled & am often laughed at for falling for folks’ deceptions. My husband would tell you that I am too trusting. Do you think that’s possible?

            Yesterday’s class went great. I have 10 wonderful colleagues ready to make the world a better place & fully cognizant that we aren’t teaching math very well in this country. Together we will make a difference. A few words of encouragement from you on the importance of math learning for the future of our country would be a big help.

            Please ignore Marc A. Thiessen’s piece in the WP today? He suggests that you should be trying to help Ukraine win the war by sending them a lot more weapons. I think that’s a bad idea. As you know WAR IS NOT THE ANSWER. We should not be contributing to it. Send humanitarian aid but not weapons. I have the same request regarding Myanmar.

            It’s wonderful that Sacramento will soon be home to thousands of Ukraine refugees. The House of Bread, one of the many Slavic churches here, is gearing up to house folks when they arrive. Do you have a timeline for that? When should we expect them?

            Since Americans are feeling generous toward refugees let’s invite some Burmese to join those from Afghanistan & Ukraine in finding a safe-haven here.
