My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            In case you’ve been too busy talking with all of those European leaders to pay attention to basketball, I am happy to inform you that the Peacocks of St. Pete’s beat Purdue yesterday in a nail biter, becoming the 1st 15th seed to make it into the Elite 8. As a devout Catholic, I am sure you are thrilled that a tiny Jesuit school has replicated the David & Goliath story. It’s a treat to watch them play, especially the 6-7 twins born in Mali.

            Can you tell that I am procrastinating? I need to work on my taxes, but instead I am pondering basketball & powerful women.

I can’t help wondering what would happen if Valentina Matrienko (VIM) replaced VVP. She might be more sympathetic to Ukraine since they awarded her with the Order of Princess Olga medal in 2002. She holds the #3 position in the government so it’s not out of the question that she could end up in charge. Other women have taken the reigns in Soviet history, most notably Catherine, the Great. As you will recall she took the crown from her husband, Peter III, in a coup. Perhaps VIM is plotting a coup as I write. How about advancing that effort by bribing her son, Sergie, who owns a $10 million villa in Pesaro, Italy? Just a thought.

            I got to pondering powerful women upon reading Hillary Clinton (HDC) & Barbara Streisand (BJS)’s writing about Mad. Albright (MJKA). BJS called her “petite in size but a powerhouse of knowledge” & “somehow brilliant and adorable at the same time.” While HDC noted, “Madeleine was a diplomat’s diplomat, ready to talk to even the most odious adversary to advance the prospects of peace.” We need more folks like MJKA.

            As you work toward restoring peace & getting rid of autocrats, please do what you can to promote the Burma Unified through Rigorous Military Accountability Act of 2021.

            Time for taxes!
