My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,
Here comes the rain again – in celebration of our storm, I danced around the house to the Eurythmics to get my blood pumping. I’m invigorated.
I suspect you are, too. You’ve got the Macron’s visiting while you are still hosting the Native leaders. Will you be introducing EJMFM to Cherokee Chief Chuck Hoskin (CH)? Perhaps they can talk about cultural maintenance through language preservation. CH is worried that 8 native speakers are dying every day & taking a treasure with them. 75% of the words in Tsalagi are verbs suggesting that when you think in that language you think about actions rather than things. We might all be better off speaking Tsalagi.
I’m sure you are aware that your “Made in America” plan has fueled anger across Europe. That makes me wonder if it is a good idea to be feeding the Macrons Blue Cheese from Oregon. Even if it is superior to fromage bleu, wouldn’t it be better to go with American cheese?
According to the WP state dinners are supposed to be “displays of culinary diplomacy… little bit old-fashioned, a little bit fancy, inflected with the accents of both host and guest.” Are you sure that serving Rogue River Blue fits this?
I understand that LL Cool J hosted the Christmas event yesterday. It must have been fun to see that 78-foot-tall red spruce from the Pisgah National Forest light up. We’re not having a tree. Not enough time or energy for it, besides we keep our carbon footprint down by not getting one. We’ll enjoy other people’s trees.
I hope that your admin is talking to the NUG in Burma & encouraging their plan to provide the Rohingya with citizenship rights. I support the statement I found in the Hindu today, “The Rohingyas have been living in Burma for several centuries. The 1982 Burma (Myanmar) Citizenship Act that denied citizenship to the Rohingya refugees should not be allowed in future.”
BYBS,
