My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            You are having all the fun!!! Naomi’s wedding (which looked like a Princess’ dream), your birthday, turkey pardoning & Friendsgiving at MCAS Cherry Point. Isn’t this a special time of year?

            If Chocolate and Chip had a good night’s rest at the Willard hotel last night, they should be in fine form this AM. I saw them strutting their stuff & fanning their tail feathers at their press conference yesterday, where National Turkey Federation chairman Ronnie Parker was justifiably thrilled at the whole affair. According to Undersecretary Jenny Moffitt this was a challenging year for his industry due to highly pathogenic avian influenza. By the way, she grew up on a walnut farm down the road from me. She said all the right things to make the farmers proud. Please send her my greetings.

In Malaysia election, newly enfranchised teens could be the kingmakers (CSM, 11/18/2022)

            Did you see that Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysian politician, age 97, lost? The new young voters there wanted to hear more about climate change & now the parliament is hung. It’ll be interesting to see how everything shakes out & who Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah decides should be PM.

            Please heed the warnings of Tom Andrews, UN guy, who just spent some time in South Korea. He said,  the international community “must not fall in the trap of legitimizing or in any way supporting or encouraging these elections.” He cautioned, the world needs to rethink and recalibrate its response to the crisis in Myanmar, which he said “hit a dangerous inflection point.”
