My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Were you at the Puerto Rican School yesterday, or was it just Jill? The coverage of your trip to Ponce was spotty so I couldn’t tell where you went or who you talked to. I did see a brief excerpt of your speech where you promised $60 million in hurricane relief. That’s really just a token gift.

Please make sure that Sec of Energy, Jennifer Granholm, has plenty of $$ to provide power to the people affected by Hurricane Fiona. I encourage you to reconsider the idea of “grid recovery” & instead redirect the $$ to solar/battery set ups so people can go off the grid. Those who made that move after Maria are so grateful right now. The locals call neighbors with solar power, “Cucubanos.” That’s Spanish for “firefly” since their houses are the only ones with lights these days.

            I hope your meeting about Reproductive Healthcare Access goes well. The KCS reports that Planned Parenthood has opened a mobile abortion clinic to travel the MO/IL border so women from MO have reproductive freedom. Please look into funding more of those.

            Finally, take a minute to view the Burmese artwork @JusticeMyanmar created to advertise #Revotober. The visuals are compelling & express so much of what’s on the hearts & minds of folks. I am grateful that they have internet access & can share their work. Please do what you can to help them.
