My Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            I am holding you & all our Congress people in the Light as you work through all of your challenges this week. Rep Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) says that everyone is “leaning in.” I certainly hope so. I don’t like reading about “warring factions” in the Dem party who could “kill” your economic agenda. I have faith that things will turn out as they should – that KLS & JM3 will let their God shine through & whatever bills should pass, will pass.

Someone said that shutting down the government is like “burning the house in the middle of a blizzard.” The WP noted that the pandemic & DJT had already hollowed out the IRS & the Bureau of Consular Affairs so tax returns are not being processed & it’s taking 16 weeks for passport applications to go through. I hope our Congressional Friends find a way to keep things open on Friday.

My condolences to you on the loss of your friend Susan Bayh from the same brain cancer that afflicted Beau. I understand you will be attending her memorial service today. I saw the photo montage put together by her husband, former IN Sen. Evan Bayh. She had a winning smile & was clearly beloved by many.

She’s my age, so her passing hits home. Next week I am being screened for breast & colon cancer & the following week I will be seeing the dermatologist about a spot on my face. I am grateful that cancer treatments have progressed so that many are surviving without having to endure chemotherapy. Have you had all of your screenings?

According to today’s NYT, exercise is the key to longevity so I will make sure to squeeze in a bike ride today. I hope you do the same.
