My Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Are you trying to stay under the radar? Are you making some quiet back room deals? I have to assume this is the case because your public calendar is minimal. You are absent from the front pages with the exception of the KCS where 2 of the 4 headlines have your name in them. One is about your new DACA rules & the other is about how Kansas lawmakers are hoping to “thwart” your vaccine effort.

Unfortunately, Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s Ambassador to the UN is also staying under the radar & did not speak to his colleagues yesterday. I hope the credential committee names him Myanmar’s official representative so he can keep the world’s eyes on the plight of his people.

            The person who IS in the news is JM3? Paul Klugmen claims he & other “moderate” Dems belong to the “Rip Van Winkle Caucus” & are stuck in the Clinton years. He notes that WV voters are in favor of your spending bills. The G backs this up with an article about how a recent survey revealed 80% of the 800 WV participants believe the bill should be passed. Poor parents in WV are especially grateful for the Child Tax Credit which got them through some rough times this year. They say the politicians are out of touch & “should stop having these little wars among each other and start thinking about the American people again.”

            Wouldn’t it be nice if it were easier to explain how these programs will be paid for? IN the WP today Glenn Kessler tried to examine your claim that your spending plan would cost “zero dollars.” He cited the Penn-Wharton Budget model which shows spending would be $5.2 T in the 1st 10 years & new revenue would be only $3.4 T. Of course, these budgets include so many assumptions it’s hard to wrap your head around any of them. Your message that you are taxing the rich to foot the bill is probably sufficient.

            The one thing I know about the federal budget is that it includes way too much $$ for the military! Build schools not bombs!
