My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,
It looks like your visit to Cincinnati was a big success yesterday. What was your impression of the IBEW-NECA Electrical Training Center? Did they tell you about their recruitment campaign, “"You've Got the Power: Find Your Future in the Electrical and Hi-Tech Information Systems Industry?" We need more young people like the woman you met yesterday who like to use their hands & their brains to fix stuff. The electrician who put in our mini-split a few weeks ago told me he loves his work, makes a good wage & has a bright future. Let’s make sure that kids learn math & physics so they can become electricians.
Thanks for saying some nice things about Sen. Rob Portman for his efforts to get the infrastructure bill passed. Did you know that he & I are both Dartmouth Alumni? He just had a nice write-up in our Alumni mag. As a student, he kayaked the length of the Rio Grande & lived on a ranch to learn about Mexican workers. That’s why he’s so interested in immigration. I hope you, two, are successful in finding the $$ to get the bill passed. It’s too bad that his brand of bipartisan politics has gone out of style & he has decided to get out of DC to go back to run his Inn.
It seems that everyone in Cincy is eager to get the Brent Spence Bridge fixed, so maybe you & Rob can convince the country that we can get things done by working across the aisle.
Don’t forget to pray for Myanmar,
BYBS,
