My dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Are you ready for your visit with H.E. Moon Jae-In (MJI) today? It’s too bad that his visit to Congress for the past couple of days was eclipsed by news of the Israel-Gaza situation. Speaking of which, what a relief that the cease fire is holding. Thanks for your quiet diplomacy on that one. Unfortunately, Fareed Zakaria, opining in the WP, asserts that the only way out of the stalemate between Israel & the Palestinians is moral persuasion. He says that now that Israel has become an economic powerhouse in the region they can do whatever they want which includes holding 5 million people in what Geraldo Rivera calls “the world’s largest prison camp.” Isn’t it amazing that Fox is broadcasting that? It just goes to show that the USA has woken up to the oppression & is pining for a new social order.

            Speaking of that kind of thing, did you know that MJI was involved in the Gwangju Democratization Movement of 1980 when around 600 protestors were killed by the Korean military? Its anniversary is May 18, so it will be fresh in MJI’s mind. They say that’s why he’s so worried about Myanmar – that & all of the investments South Korea has there. I hope you two can figure out a way to help out there.

            Please don’t make him choose between us & China. All he wants is reunification with his neighbor to the North. I’m sure he’ll take some of our vaccines if we have some to share.
