My dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

            I am so sorry that your demons took hold of you last night at your debate. I kept hoping that you would turn things around & show you presidential side, but no such luck. The NYT said you were “hectoring” JRB.

Are you familiar with that word? I had to look it up & found that it’s a synonym for bullying. The origins of the word are fascinating. Hector was a champion of the Greek army. Iliad wrote about him as an ideal soldier in the Iliad. Back in the 17th century, when people were reading books like the Iliad, a gang of young men admired Hector and adopted his name. They were known for roaming the streets of London intimidating people, so people started to associate “Hector” with “blustering braggarts” who tried to intimidate people. Doesn’t that remind you of the Proud Boys?

Aren’t you sorry that you evoked them last night? You upset a lot of people in doing so. I don’t think there are that many Proud Boys out there. They tried to have a rally in Portland on Sat. & got a permit for a gathering of 20,000. Only a couple of hundred people showed up. If they do “stand by & stand up” for you, it’s not going to have much impact.

Enough about the debate. Please reconsider your plans to go to Greenbay on Sat. The folks in Brown County are in the midst of a CV crisis. The Bellin Hospital is at 94% capacity & there’s a danger they’ll run out of staff. Your rally is stressing out the public health officials there & they don’t need any more to worry about. Why not go to PA instead? CV seems to be under control there.

When you’re in Duluth today, I encourage you to be calm & polite. You will recall that folks in MN pride themselves on being NICE to everyone. Give it a try. It’ll do you a world of good.
