My dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

            Are you excited about your debate tonight? I am apprehensive. I worry that your better angels will fail you & you may make some regrettable, distasteful statements. I don’t need to remind you that you have lost some voters by being mean. This morning I read a story about some of your defectors, where the Associated Press reported that one high school librarian doesn’t like the way you make fun of people & a young guy from NC doesn’t like the way you are handling the pandemic. If you want to keep voters like these, then acting presidential and sticking to the issues might be your best bet tonight.

            It’s wonderful that you are sending out 6.5 million rapid CV tests to the states. It’s easier to contain CV is we know where it’s spreading fastest. My BFF is discouraged that WI has become a hotspot. The Atlantic says it’s on the brink of a major outbreak. Perhaps you could send some extra CV tests to them. It would be great if you could encourage the state legislature there to support a mask-up campaign.

            It looks like you had fun checking out the Endurance truck at the WH yesterday. I was surprised to see you so excited about an electric vehicle. Did the mini-motors in the hubs of each wheel win you over? Or was it all of those jobs that Lordstown Motors is bringing back to OH’s Mahoning Valley? Do you think that the $52,500 price tag will make it competitive with the Tesla Cybertruck or the Ford & GM models that are in the works? Isn’t it great that soon we’ll have some cleaner trucks on the highway?

            Please say something about our fires tonight. It’ll help the folks in the wine country to know that you care.
