            It looks like you had quite the party at the WH last night. Fireworks, opera, an unmasked crowd on the lawn. I’m not in a party mood so it seems a bit incongruous to me.

            Again, I watched just a bit of the RNC. I loved Alice Johnson’ remarks that during her time behind bars she refused to let that “imprison her mind” & she fought to “keep hope alive.” She is so lucky that Kim Kardashian West (KMKW) encountered her & championed her cause. Speaking of KMKW, isn’t it great that she’s studying law & advocating for prisoners’ rights to protection against Covid? I understand she’s not endorsing you. Perhaps because her husband is running.

            I also watched retired Police Capt. David Dorn’s (DD) widow talk about his death at the hands of a looter. I was touched by the story but then I found out that DD’s daughters were appalled that their step-mom was invoking their father’s name to support you. Apparently, DD used to argue with his wife about you. As a Black man he had felt the sting of racism far too often & objected to many of your policies. His daughters regret that they’ve been in the spotlight setting the record straight when they’d rather be left in peace to grieve the passing of their dad. It would be great if you’d call them & apologize.

            Isn’t it exciting to see the “Commitment March” today 57 years after the March on DC? Did you hear about the group led by Frank “Nitty” Sensabaugh that marched from Milwaukee to get there? He’s got the bloody feet to show for it. Right now, Porsche Taylor is speaking. She & her crew of Black women rode their motorcycles from Long Beach to DC. She’s urging the folk to vote. I believe that everyone there embraces MLK’s sense of the “fierce urgency of now.” I’m feeling it, too. Are you?
