My dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
The news isn’t new right now and you aren’t going anywhere or meeting anyone new so it’s hard to conjure up something to write, but I feel compelled to keep writing, so here goes.
Since I am feeling overloaded with CV info, this AM I only read 1 of the 5 papers that I subscribe to. Instead, I read the transcript of your press conference about the Small Business Administration (SBA)’s work to help small businesses stay afloat and continue to pay their employees. Thanks for hiring a Latina woman to run the SBA. Jovita Carranza’s (JC) resume suggests that she should be well equipped to lead the agency. It’s too bad that she only had a couple of months to settle into the position before all hell broke loose and she had to hire 7000 new agents to process the 2000 applications that SBA is receiving EVERY MINUTE. According to the WSJ, folks are desperate to get their $10,000 grants to pay their employees, but are having trouble making contact. Ivanka made it sound like everything is going great, but I’m afraid that’s not the case. Please give JC whatever assistance that she asks for so she can keep the $$ flowing to the SBs.
Wasn’t Darrin Williams, CEO of Southern Bancorp, impressive? He’s doing his best to distribute funds to the SBs in rural AR & MS. Don’t you love his goal to help 10,000 people buy homes, to develop 100,000 jobs and to help 1 million folks save money? I love his focus on financial education and his efforts to help people understand why they should use his bank rather than a payday lender. Of course, that requires some basic understanding of percents so I hope he’s working with some math educators to think about how to foster an understanding of exponential growth. Please extend my thanks to him for his excellent work.
Be well,
HYITL,
