My Friend DJT,

            It’s Earth Day and my brother’s birthday. Time to celebrate!!! You are welcome to join our family Zoom call at 6:00. He just turned 61 and he’s the proud owner of a restaurant in Sag Harbor. He doing ok with his “Drive-up & Take away” service with an extensive menu of burritos, sandwiches and tacos. He’s a gregarious guy who could make friends with the grumpiest, shiest and most offensive folk so he’s got a lot of repeat customers. He’s always enthusiastic about a new business plan. You’d love him. I know I do.

            I’m sorry that Greta and her gang have to have a virtual Earth Day this year. Did you hear any of her remarks on the Nobel Prize Museum livestream? She’s ready to change how she does things and to “push even harder.” I love her!!!

            I understand you are planting a tree today.  What kind of tree will it be? Maples are always nice with their bright fall color. Common Witch Hazel has yellow flowers in the fall which might lift your spirits. You can’t go wrong with an oak. You’ve got 23 native varieties to choose from. Speaking of oaks, what ever happened to the oak from Belleau Wood that Emmanuel Macron gave you in April 2018? It disappeared shortly after you planted it. That was a special tree so I hope it didn’t get thrown away.

            I hope when you plant your tree, you experience the healing powers of Mother Nature, as I do, every time I dig around in my garden.
