My dear Friend and POTUS, DJT,
I had hoped to start my morning with some news of your visit with the BSA kids yesterday but I couldn’t find any. Did you meet with them or were you too busy with covid-19 (CV)? The “Bryan on Scouting” blog didn’t have any info, but did have a comparison between GW’s 110 rules of civility and the Scout law. My favorite is:
Rule No. 22: Show not yourself glad at the misfortune of another though he were your enemy. The scouts just say, “Be Kind.” I hope we can both strive to abide by this one.
Please consider advancing the suggestion offered by the editors of the NYT that for the duration of CV everyone get paid sick leave for 1 or 2 days, at least at nursing homes. Workers there can become “super-spreaders” and we don’t have enough ventilators to take care of all the elderly folks with compromised lungs. We have to combat “presenteeism” if we want to get this under control. So you can set up a fund so the nursing homes can pay for some emergency labor and give their permanent folks the option to for a sick day if they need it.
I’m sure you heard about the debacle on the Grand Princess Cruise ship that has distributed about 2000 possibly infected passengers all over the country. I know you’re not a fan of regulation, but I think there should be some so Princess Cruises would have some accountability and this kind of thing doesn’t happen again.
I hope you enjoy your visit to JB’s stomping grounds today.
BYBS,
