My dear Friend, DJT,

            I’ve been reading about a couple of your governor friends, SD’s Kristi Noem (KLN) & KS’s Laura Kelly (LK). It’s interesting that they have taken different positions on masks. Even though SD has a 60% positivity rate & citizens are filling up the hospitals, KLN is following your lead by eschewing masks. LK, on the other hand, has just issued a statewide mask mandate. To my knowledge, it doesn’t specify what kind of mask folks have to wear, but LK is trying to get her people to cover their noses & mouths. The LAT indicates that some masks are better than others, with neck gaiters and bandannas being pretty ineffective, so when LK runs her TV ads, hopefully she’ll include some info about wearing something that has a couple of layers & fits well.

            Speaking of TV, KLN has a studio in her office. It seems that she is adhering to your approach & trying to get her face on Fox News as often as possible. She’s getting some advice that “conflict is attention.”

That must be the strategy behind your misguided effort to claim you won the election. Was yesterday’s debacle in Wayne County, when the two GOPers on the canvassing board voted NO to certify the election, just another ploy to keep your dispute in the news? I find it encouraging that Michiganders could join the Zoom call & make their objections known. Another win for democracy!

Back to masks. I. understand that you considered launching “Project America Strong” that would have involved sending every citizen a mask. It’s not too late to do that. Since you are such a fan of Christmas, you could put a holiday greeting on it. That would be a wonderful gesture & would help us get through Dec without overwhelming the healthcare system.
