Sorry to hear about your CV. I know that you will get the best of care so chances are you will get through this. Best case scenario, your viral inoculum was low, because as you know, your age & weight put you at greater risk of having a hard time.
This morning I learned how being over-weight affects your body. Since I am your friend, I can tell you the truth about that. Your fat cells have crowded out your immune cells so you have fewer of them. So, you have a reduced # of T-cells and macrophages to attack the CV particles. The ones that you do have aren’t as effective. You also have restricted airflow because the fat in your belly is crowding out your lungs. I wish I had warned you about all of this before, so you could take more precautions, but I didn’t know.

I also didn’t know that wearing a mask reduces viral inoculum so when you encounter the virus you contract fewer particles which your body has an easier time handling. Scientists figured that out with an experiment on hamsters. Imagine the tiny masks that they had to make for those little guys. Anyway, I hope you were wearing your mask when you interacted with whoever had the virus. Some people think you got it from Hope Hicks which does not bode well. She is showing symptoms so she probably had a high viral load, which means you might, also.
Aren’t you lucky you got the virus now, rather than in April? Your doctors will be in a good position to treat you because the science has advanced quickly. It would be nice if a test were available to measure your viral load so we’d all have a better idea for how sick you might get. Lacking that info, I’ll just hold you in the Light & hope you take it easy so you don’t suffer from a cytokinetic storm.
In the meantime, I’m sure I am not the only American who would like to know your plan for handing things over to MRP in case you have to go on a ventilator. Please figure that out & let us know how that will work.
