My dear Friend and president, DJT,
How are you doing with spreading love? You can start with the easiest people and work your way up. Kisses for Melania and Barron, friendly calls to your kids and grandkids and so on, until your heart gets so big that you have it in you to apologize to the "squad." I know it won't happen tomorrow, but I encourage you to work on it.
How did your visit with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte (MR) go? You'll remember that I'm part Dutch. My grandma came to Montclair, NJ, at age 5 in 1906. She called me Dach Liefi Satcha (dear little one). Like most Dutch folk she was direct, honest and a bit reserved. I'm that way, too. Is MR also? How did you like that WWII flag from Utah beach? Please be sure to write Bert Kreuk a note thanking him.
Isn't it great that the Dutch import more US goods than they export to us employing 800,000 US workers? They are the second largest exporter of food in the world and the top exporter of tomatoes. It's because they have huge greenhouses and lots of automation. I think their path to success is that they are tolerant, inclusive and pragmatic. They've been welcoming refugees and integrating them into their neighborhoods. They've been working hard on climate resilience and are great at AI & robotics. I hope you listened closely to MR. I think we have a lot to learn from Holland.
It's very exciting that the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston will be opening a Center for Netherlandish Art with 113 works by 76 artists including Rachel Ruyschwho painted gorgeous still lives featuring flowers. MR is there today to celebrate.
Have fun at the celebration of the moon landing. On July 18, 1969, I was in the den at my house in Winnetka, IL. We watched the landing and then headed out to play tennis. I remember looking up to see the moon and my dad saying, "There are men up there." It was hard to fathom. Where were you when Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon?
Have a great day,
RCA
