What are your thoughts about driving these days? In May, 2017, Bloomberg reported that you missed driving. I like driving on open roads but am very happy I don't have to do it every day. I think biking to work is much better for my karma.
I ask about driving because as my husband and I drove back from Monterey yesterday, some people were driving like maniacs. I think they were doing that for fun. That got me thinking about autnomous cars and whether they'd make us happier. I think they might make commuters happier, but truck drivers will lose their jobs and that won't be happy for them. Sunday drivers who like to speed along the highway will also lose out. I understand that the auto-makers are trying to figure this out, too. What do you think?
Those poor automakers! Especially Mary Barra! Some say that since GM announced they'd close 5 plants last week, she is the most hated CEO in DC. Mary claims that demand for sedans is down and the new steel tariffs have cost GM $1 billion so they have to make some corrections. Our trade relations with China are exacerbating their problems, and now that Qatar is pulling out of OPEC, who knows what will happen to oil prices. It looks like GM is banking on self-driving cars and technology. We'll have to wait and see if that's the way to go.
Did you know that GWH Bush was such a super guy? I certainly didn't. I found out today that he sky-dived at age, 90. I can't imagine ever sky diving. Can you? I love that he was buddies with Dana Carvey even though those SNL skits could be harsh. Maybe you should become buddies with Alec Baldwin as a start toward a more humble presidency. Then when you die, everyone will say what a great guy you were.
