My dear Friend and president, DJT,

            It's nice of you to host Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day at the White House today. I hope you will avoid mocking parents when you talk to the kids. You can just tell them that everyone who has jobs in and around the White House works very hard trying to keep up with you.

            What do you think of Joe Biden's candidacy? If the cover of the NYT is any indicator, he might give you a run for your money. Your name appears there 12 times today and his appears 11 times. I would prefer a younger, more progressive Democratic candidate and would be really excited to see a woman running against you. Joe, is the "been there, done that" candidate, don't you think? 

            Are you sure you want to disrupt the USDA and send the offices out of DC? It's hard for farmers to feel like they have influence when their regulatory body is off in the hinterlands somewhere. I understand that the offices of the National Institute for Food and Agriculturedon't need to be in expensive rented offices on the waterfront, but a compromise would be wise.  I also wonder about the wisdom of forcing long time employees to move. 

            I have to get going today so I can set up my classroom for today's Socratic Seminars on the role of public schools in a democracy. The legislators in Tennessee should come join us so they can understand why it's a bad idea to supply vouchers to parents to send their kids to private schools.
