My dear Friend and President, DJT,
This will be my speediest letter ever. I have to rush off to campus this morning to talk with teachers about their inquiry projects. I am hoping to see a lot of evidence about student engagement and equitable participation in mathematics classrooms.
I wish I could disapperate, like Harry Potter, and land at Mar-a-Lago in the middle of the day to lay my eyes on the 6th Annual Wine, Women & Shoes For Big Dog Ranch Rescue that your daughter-in-law, Lara, is putting on. I'm afraid that the $5000/table price tag is daunting but I would be intrigued to see if dogs get to come to the party. From what I can tell from the Rescue's webpage their orphaned dogs look a lot like the orphan dogs we have at our YSPCA - pit bull mixes, border collie mixes, terrier mixes. Behind every one of those cute faces is a checkered past. In 90% of the cases, the animal has developed some annoying coping mechanisms which aren't always obvious for the first couple of weeks of fostering. It would take me too long to go list them all. Suffice it to say, like humans, no animal is perfect, and when stressed their bad side shows through. With love and gentle guidance their better angels begin to show. I think the love comes from recognizing the bad stuff while celebrating the good.
If you haven't noticed, that's my approach to loving you. Not always easy but necessary.
Best,
RCA
