My dear Friend and President, DJT,

I am sitting in the lobby of the UC Davis Hospital this morning while my husband has an emergency gallbladder surgery. It's one of the most common surgeries in the USA so the young surgeon who is doing the job has probably done a lot of these. Please send good vibes our way.

I'm seeing a fascinating kaleidoscope of people here - a crew of fully equipped fire fighters axes in hand, an orange-clad prisoner -  hands cuffed behind his back, an elderly man in a wheel chair in his pajamas who may or may not be a patient and employees of every rank, exchanging greetings and information. We saw an amazing array of humanity in our 12-hour ER visit yesterday, too. Most troubling were the folks who were screaming, begging for help, swearing and kicking up a fuss. 

My conclusion from that ordeal is that we need to do more to help those in need. I hope you develop a plan for that. The ER is not the place for someone having a psychotic episode brought on by the trauma of living on the street.

Enough about me. I was intrigued to see that you are meeting with Rep. Adam Kinzinger (ADK) today. I suspect it has to do with his recent deployment to the border in his role as National Guard pilot. He's been quite vocal about what he saw, supporting your assertion that there is an emergency there. I'm still not convinced and encourage you to remain open to the idea of letting go of this "emergency" thing.

I'm glad that you forgave ADK for being critical of you for your harsh words about the GOP Reps who lost their seats in Nov. I hope you will heed his suggestion to be more graceful. He's got some street cred with his various deployments in the Air Force and his heroic efforts to save lives and seems to know how to get things done in Congress. 

Be careful he may decide to run against you, just like he decided to run against GOP Rep Dan Manzullo in 2010 when he was just 34 years old. He's a go getter and he might just get you.
