My dear Friend and President, DJT,

I only have a minute this morning and then I’m off to talk with some folks from all around CA about our network of mathematics educators. It’s good for me to get out of my office and out of my comfort zone and mingle with strangers. At least we all have something in common, making it a bit easier to break the ice.

It looks like you’ll be mingling with some strangers, too. Unlike most of us, you seem to relish that activity. Today you’ll have a chance to meet Gretchen Whitmer who will be joining some other Governor elects for your WH event. She’s into building bridges rather than walls and took a bus tour of MI where the slogan was “fix the damn roads.” She thinks she’s going to get some matching grants from you so be ready for a big ask. I think you’ll like her even if she is a Democrat.

The folks in Detroit are so excited about Gretchen’s WH visit that it was front page news.  Not so much in Iron Mountain where news that a poacher killed a deer within the Marquette city limits took up too much of the front page.

Do you think I should sell my stocks and invest in one of those revitalization projects you were talking about yesterday? I don’t have millions of $$. Can I still get in on the deal or is it only a tax break for the billionaires? I’m kind of worried about the stock market. Are you?
