My dear Friend and President, DJT,
How are things in Hanoi? According to the Greenwich Times your trip has not been very well planned and some reporters had to switch hotels yesterday. That's too bad. Did you include some time in your itinerary for some sightseeing? It looks like the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long is a special spot. I hope you get a chance to see it.
Have you been talking to Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins about the Emergency Declaration? I think they could help you understand why it's a problem. Lisa has some concerns about "expanding executive authority by acquiescence" and Susan thinks the declaration has “dubious constitutionality.” You might want to talk to Rep. Justin Amash (R.MI), too. His tweet has been getting a lot of press, "The same congressional Republicans who joined me in blasting Pres. Obama’s executive overreach now cry out for a king to usurp legislative powers. If your faithfulness to the Constitution depends on which party controls the White House, then you are not faithful to it." You have to admire him for sticking to his Libertarian principles.
I have to go. It's another day exploring volume with 5th graders. I need to leave early so I don't get tangled in the 8:10 school drop off traffic.
Best,
